It's easier to say what you can't bring!

Fruit, meats, eggs, guns, drugs, if you have prescription medication you have to have a copy of the prescription. The sticker on the container is enough but some people will mix all their pills into one...don't do that!!! If you have pets, they have to have updated shots and documentation proving it.

Don't give anyone you don't know a ride across the border and of course never accept any unknown packages from anyone. For a more complete list I'm sure you could call U.S customs at the port you wish to cross for a more detailed list but I think this just about covers it.

No live plants, that includes fruit, flowers, etc. No natural food products like flour, wheat, etc.
Booze - you'd better be able to show where you bought it and probably keep it unopened.
Cigarettes - show you bought them at home before leaving or risk paying taxes on them. No firearms, no dead bodies. I crossed over into the US on August 20 and came back on August 21 without any concerns, the guards were all really nice and friendly going both ways. Keep all of your receipts for everything you bought while gone.

Some items are restricted or prohibited. Have a look at the link below for more information (US Customs & Border Protection Web site). Don't forget to check with Customs Canada for what is restricted / prohibited when you come back (second link).

Ummmm could you be more specific? Like something specifically you were wondering about?

Generally and off hand....

You cant take Meat or eggs (currently) I live in Canada and JUST went over and it is NONONO meat or eggs.... not even a sandwich.... lol....

No drugs....or fire arms..... and regular stuff that is illegal.

And coming to Canada we used to not be able to return with citrus fruits... not sure if that still remains the same.

If you are still at a loss try the USA/ Canada Customs sites.... and I am sure they have detailed lists there.

Good Q!!!

Best of luck- enjoy your trip =)

I don't see any problem to take your RV with you as long as you have sufficient paperwork for immigration officer. The Canadian immigration officer are more strict and rude.

If you're going into Canada, make sure you have no firearms. They're a no-no.
