Okay this is very hard.

This situation is a hard one, you need to be very careful in everything you do.

First of all, dont get involved with someone who is abusive, dont let them bring you down, nobody is superior then you, no one is special, and if they try to be, don't be with them.

First try to speak with a abusive hotline near your state, talk with someone for assistance, and try to stay away from this person.

I wish you well and hope you can get out of this situation.

In this day and age you know what to do, but you do not want to do it. Saving some money, get a restraining order, get a good attorney and then file for divorce. For the 15 years of abuse it will take you about 5 years to get better to good health. If needed relocate to the state of California live for six months then file your divorce here (this means half of the house is yours, half the SSI is yours, half the 401K is yours etc). Do it the California way, and then go to school. School and homework will take your mind of all the negativity. Here's a good attorney Law Office of Alaba Ajetunmobi 3350 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 870 Los Angeles CA 90010-1885 (213) 380-9488 or fax 213-380-9511 He is my attorney and he is good.

Find someplace like "Breaking Away", "Ground Works"; any organization that helps w/abuse. Mental abuse can be worse than physical abuse; been there & done that & work w/victims, now. You can go to a county mental health facility and they can help you as well as law enforcement. Seems like you know no other way to live because you have become conditioned to this sort of treatment which is unacceptable but you have to help yourself first. Don't be like me & almost die in order to raise a child..................and trust me there is a patern we follow in life & I repeated the cycle s few times before I wised up. Good luck & email or IM me if you like

Leave. If not physically abusive - and the abuse is mental abuse...just LEAVE. (If that is this is a husband or a partner - you didn't say).
If it's an old friend...then time to move on ...don't answer their calls - don't take it.
Whoever is doing this to you - just cut them out of your life pronto. For your sake.

I CAN TELL YOU. YOU HAVE TO MOVE AWAY. TAKE WHATEVER MONEY YOU CAN. GET EVERYTHING THAT BELONGS TO YOU. NO MATTER WHO PAID FOR IT YOU KNOW WHATS YOURS AND THEN MOVE WHEN HE LEASTS EXPECTS IT. IF YOU STAY THINGS WILL NEVER CHANGE, JUST WALK AWAY. WOMEN ARE FRAGILE CREATURES AND WE ONLY DESERVE THE BEST. You know what you have to do you just need to get strong enough to do it. if he is mentally abusive eventually he will become physically abusive and thats not worth it. just be strong and good luck

If you are married to this guy, go see a lawyer, and a therapist.
He has probably tried to make you feel like you are nothing, and useless.
Five years would have put me over the edge, start packing, if he hasn't changed by now, chances are, you're stuck, if you continue to allow it.

you start divorce proceedings immediately - move out immediately - get away from all the negativity - stay with family or friends until you can get a place of your own - don't stay - i've been there!! it's so exhilarating being free from the abuse.
