I want to remodel my back yard. I am thinking that I want a 500-feet wide, 350-feet deep lowered amphitheatre dug directly into the ground, and the earth excavated from this hole I will use to build a mountain on which I will plant grapevines to make wine. I have to be finished this weekend. I already own a shovel. What else do I need?

LOL, sorry, knee jerk reaction there. Imagination does not top my list...it is obvious that you already have that, you need a MUCH LARGER shovel than the one you have, I'll just bet. I think maybe...strip mine sized equipment. But here is my shpeel , Contact you local Cooperative Extension Office and ask for a Master Gardener. They can probably direct you to the appropriate agency to be sure that you meet all codes n' such. They may even be able to recommend grapes that will do fine without havinga mountain to grow on... >:-)

A long Tape Measure. It can be hard to estimate distances over about 10 feet.
