Where to start? I saw the Dr. and found out that I have a Staph infection. The Dr. said it looks like the type that is resistant to antibiotics, &I have to go for a follow up. Well, here's the thing, the Dr. told me the way you get this infection is through person to person contact. So basically, i'd have had to be in contact with a person that has the infection. The only person i've been in close contact with in that way, is my bf. So, I am wondering should I say something to him, or just take my antibiotics¬ worry him about it? Also, I found out from the gynecologist that I have a bacterial infection (not an STD). I don't know what to do. I want to tell him, but at the same time, I don't want him to think i'm accusing him of giving me anything...which i'm not doing. I realize that some things just happen,&the Dr. said Staph infections are common. How do I tell him about these without him thinking theres something wrong with me? Should I even say anything to him at all?

Take a big deep breath and calm down. Staph infections can be caused by a myriad of things. It isn't always the ones we love that give it to us. I'm a nurse who works in a clinic and see about 10 patients a week with Strep Throat which is also known as a staph infection. Now these little kids do not "close" contact with girlfriends or boyfriends. Staph is just a nasty little bug that lives EVERYWHERE, now it is contagious the first 24-48 hours and it is likely he might get it but that doesn't mean he didn't give it to you first, he may be just a carrier and you happened to receive it.
Just tell him the truth, you have an infection that is antibiotic resistant and that it needs to run its course. If he says who did you get it from you can tell him you have no idea that Staph is everywhere and you were just the unlucky one who got it and that you need TLC from him. The bacterial vaginosis is something you got from taking the antibiotics to begin with, I'm suprised your doctor didn't tell you that from day one. Eat some plain acidophilus yogurt (you can put fruit in it) and you can use that as well to treat the vaginosis. You put it where the infection is, I know it sound gross but it works.
Hang in there! Good Luck!

staph infections, you could get just as easily from allowing an open wound to be contaminated against a public countertop (like at the bank, the grocery, the gym). A bacterial infection (vaginitis) can also be caused my many different things, with intercourse being a minute possibility compared to all the others. If you TRULY don't have an STD, just tell bf you have a yeast infection due to a chemical imbalance. Or staph/infected hair pore that requires antibiotics and is sore....but not contagious or an STD. Be honest. If it is remotely an STD, you need to find a way to tell him without openly accusing him or causing it. Even some STDs can be caused by public facility use instead of intercourse.

tell his dirty azz. seriously, if he's giving you a staph infection and bacterial infections, why put up with that mess simply bcuz he's your BF? sit him down and tell him straight up that you got so and so and the DOCTOR thinks it may have been you since this is a person to person contact thing. tell him to go get tested for staph and see if he's the culprit. once you tell him this, all he'll hear is contracted and infection. which will surely freak him out so there's really no way of getting around this. tell him whatever you need to and that it's a common infection.

A staph infection can be a very serious thing. Look it up on the web. Staph can cause mersa (the flesh eating disease, or celulitis). It can be spread from one person to another by touching something the contaminated person touched. It is often spread by dirty hands or fingernails. Do some reading and then protect your loved ones by telling them. It's nothing to be ashamed of BUT it would be very shameful to pass it on by carelessness.

For crying out loud, TELL HIM!!! Just be factual. Tell him you were diagnosed with a staph infection, which is farily common and passed fairly easily from person to person, so you're concerned that he might have it too. If he asks where you got it, tell him you don't know (because you really don't).

Got to tell him. Staph infections can also just happen from living in filth. you could have got it anywhere. it isn't necessarily a STD Wrestlers get it all the time and it is often blamed on dirty training mats.
he would definitely tell you if he got it !
Stay clean!

Yea you should tell him, because if you take the antibiotics, and be intimate w/ him again, you'll get infected again. Tell him so he can checked, and take the antibiotics... Plus you should be honest w/ him, especially something like this... If he accuses you of cheating, than that's his problem he will have to deal w/. But definately tell him...

Interesting.
Staff infections can come from many places and indeed they come from open cuts as well.
If you have done nothing wrong I suggest you get a second opinion from an expert.
My doctor confused a jelly fish bite with scabies!!!

yes tell him. Be careful and think about your health. If he gives you 2 infections what could be next? HIV or AIDS? Think about yourself, he obviously is not thinking about your health because if so he would use protection if he is sleeping with someone else!

If he is the one that gave it to you then once it goes away you'll just end up getting it again most likely he will need to get treated for it also.
