Sunday became the Christian Sabbath (the Old Testament - Jewish- Sabbath and early Christian Sabbath was Saturday) when Emperor Constantine consolidated the religions of the Roman empire under the heading of Christianity. Sunday was chosen as the new Sabbath because it corresponded with the pagan monotheist sun worshipers sabbath.

Cheers

to Christians of today they say Sunday is the lords day and a day of rest, the sabbath(the actually day of rest is Friday night to Saturday sundown. ) this was changed to Sunday by the roman church so that they don't celebrate it with the Jewish people. this happen around 200-300 AD. Germany's don't believe in working on Sundays at all and honor that no work day, including no yard work allowed.

All other answers are good.

This is according to recorded history.

Originally it was Saturday.

Farrow was asked to give one day off to Jewish slaves working on various project.

Mosses, the son of Farrow's sister was instrumental in granting this leniency to the slaves through his adoptive father the Farrow.

Mosses actually was a son of a slave, the woman who gave birth to Mosses saved his life by putting him in a make sift boat and let him float away with the hope that he will not be found and killed and his life will be spared. At the time there was a general ordinance in effect to kill all male children of the slaves.

Farrow's sister who was not able to have a child of her own and was craving for one, found him, raised him as her own, told every one that she gave birth to him, Farrow liked him very much.

He would have being the next Farrow.

Sunday is not a "holiday", it is considered to be a "holy day", a day of rest and a day to reflect on your faith, a day of worship and prayer. Even God rested on the seventh day and looked upon all He had created.
