I personally do not like Norton products at all...I think they are overly cumbersome and don't work as well as they should seeing how much you pay for it. I use Trend Micro PC-Cillin and have never had a problem that could not be fixed. Also, if you want a good FREE antivirus, check out AVG.

Nortons Security Suite is still to this day the very worse garbage out there. When you remove Nortons from your system you will be left with atleast 300 plus fragments that will cause conflict.

Nortons, I belive they know they have garbage and really get upset when you remove the program. So they fix you with fragments glued to all your files and hidden all over your system.

The only way to rid yourself of them is with www.rosecitysoftware.com --their Registry First Aid program that is not free.

For nine years now I use what the Government of China uses. An I never had one spyware, trojan, malware, adware. Clean 100%. always.

Being a clinical psychiatrist I have a moral and legal obligation to keep my pc 100% clean from all virus/spyware/malware.

I tested every free and purchase antivirus system known. An I found only one that actually works 100%. Never had a virus or spyware in my system in nine years.

Go to, www.filseclab.com and download thier Twister AntiTrojan Virus program. (You will have to pay a small one time fee). You will never have to pay an annual fee for updates, support or new versions. The one time fee is for life. ($29.99)

The software company is located in Beijing, China. They have excellent support, frequent large signature updates an as always all new versions are free. No annual fee for anything.

Comes with a real time scanner that really works. Actually I am quite amazed over the nine years how well it works.

Scans memory on startup.
Real time scanning in the background.
Open any webpage with an embedded trojan/spyware or malware and scanner will clean on the spot. An It is really removed from your system.

Download any kind of program from zips, all compressed files, software files, music, etc, etc, an if there is a hidden embedded trojan, spyware, malware, this program will stop the download and clean. An will advise you to end the download.

Will even find a virus in the installer wizard, like "Wise Installer". And will stop the installation while it is being installed and clean. Plus this program always will trace back who installed the trojan.

I had a trojan in and wizard installer. Twister caught the trojan and stopped the installation. I wrote the origianl company and told them the wizard installer had an embedded trojan to steal your data. The company now uses thier own installer.

You can't beat this software for a one time purchase fee only. Actually I don't know of any antivirus progam that even comes close to this state of the art technology.

All I can say it is worth the one time fee. Your pc cost alot of money and you don't want it destroyed. Plus your privacy is protected at all times.

There is nothing in it for me to praise this program. I tell it like it is. If it is garbage then I will say so.

I've used NIS for the past 10 years. I am very satisfied with the product. If you want to go FREE like these other folks, thats your decision. But having a choice between free and reliable with garauntee, then NIS is my choice. Timely updates to viruses definitions and other NIS features. Communication with Symantec help regarding issues. Symantec website is loaded with valuable information to many questions, FAQ.

I can tell you now, once surfing I linked up to a website that had a virus ready to download into my computer. NIS immediately flashed a warning screen and informed me of the danger. It closed the website and protected my computer from any harm, nothing happened to my PC.

Now, if you are worried about the cost at your local PC store. Remember when you buy from them, you buy the marketing package. That's why its $50.00.

Using E-bay, its a brand new copy, never used, one year update subscription, but you don't get the box. You receive a sealed NIS disk with its key. But it only costs you $30.00 plus s&h. These are great if you are budget minded. Remember, bid on the lower one first, and investigate the sellers reviews on his selling habits, stay away from the bad sellers with negative reviews.

i've got had Norton's and that i replaced into very unimpressed as my laptop ran great-sluggish and it have been given contaminated too. I now use Kaspersky although AVG is likewise very reliable- and the two are loose. i like Kaspersky as there's a on a daily basis replace and does not intervene too plenty with speed. i could evade style Micro and McAfee- for my area they are puffed up

Well, any internet security suite which is good in intrusion detection and real time(online)scanning is worth buying!so if Norton is providing it ,then go ahead.well personally i am not using it because it is a memory guzzler!!:( painfully slow!!there are many others utilities which u can use separately, (anti-spyawares,firewall,anti-virus,reg.cleaner).I am using spybot search n destroy, avira ,lavasoft adaware, and zone alarm firewall.and my computer is clean for last three years!!:)
