You aren't supposed to feel anything(chemically). They give you these drugs to make you feel normal so you can still feel angry when someone steps on your toe or sad when someone dies. Seraquil is habit forming and since you have been on it for a while you should feel nothing from it but if you don't take it for a few days you will have trouble sleeping. The prozac will take a few days to take it's effect on you chemical stability but if indeed you truly need the pills you should feel normal. Like not want to get out of bed on Monday and hate your boss. If the world isn't all peachy don't give up you are now normal. If you want something to make the world peachy start taking mushrooms and move to the beach.
I am not a fan of pills but if a professional thinks you should be on them for severe depression or anxiety it is probably the safest thing for you. Some, not all, doctors over prescribe anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills.

I think you would do better without drugs, if that's possible. There are so many side effects and interactions that the possibility for disaster is larger than I would care to risk. Also, think you would do better to find out if this is real clinical depression or just the result of poor self-esteem and like that. If it is clinical depression, you should come out of it within a fairly short time, and no longer require medication. If not, no amount of medication is going to do you any real good, this is a coping issue.
Have you always been un-motivated before the afternoon? If so, this may be just the natural lag of the vampire physiology--that is to say, those who perform best later in the day. Get it? In this case, you'd do better to skip the drugs and find a night job, buy some blackout curtains and live as your body prefers to live. You can retrain the night owl, but it isn't easy, and needs a lot of work to maintain.
More to the point, don't ask a bunch of strangers this question, bring it up with your doctor, because the truth is that, however well a drug may work for most people, if it doesn't work for you---no matter why--it isn't the drug you should be taking.

Meds can affect everyone differently so if someone else has a horror story about it doesn't mean that you are going to experience the same. Most of the time its all pshycological.
Anyway, I took prozac about 5 or 6 years ago and I never got addicted or worse afterwards. It helped me be more mellow and not flip out about things I normally would. More like being emotionally numb. But I've realized I am naturally an emotional person. I have cry ed when I get really happy, sad and even mad. So, I just learn to accept my personality and I just express it more than others care to see it. Anyway, Come to find out that I just needed to get rid of the boyfriend at that time. Ever since I broke up with him and got right with the Lord....I didn't need medicine or prozac to be happy anymore.
I don't know you or your situation but try to observe your surroundings and keep yourself with possitive outside influences as well. I look at my situation as someone trying to loose weight by taking a diet pill but never exercise or change eat habits. Kind of like you are what you eat. Your life is what you make it. You must help your mental state by putting more positive into your lifestyle and surround yourself with people who are loving and willing to help you and accept how you are. That might be difficult for some people who are young or stuck in their own "this is how my life is" theory. But anyways, Good luck with your situation and I hope you get better. Don't be scared, ask God to help you.

Actually, Prozac is supposed to make you feel alert-and it could take a couple of weeks to get the full effect. You might be surprised because there is a good chance you will have more energy. I was on it for awhile and it gave me energy-but it didn't help long term for me so I was switched. Most people have great results with it.
I can tell you that seroquil can make you feel quite drowsy when you first wake up and you could be suffering from the after effects of that.
I take that and most of the time, it takes me quite awhile to feel alert and have any energy. For a couple of hours after I wake up, I just want to laze around. My doctor states that that will get better once it is in my system good.
Also, that alprazolam can really make you drowsy. I would almost be money that that is the problem.

First to those who say get off the drugs, I say hooyie. Prozac is in a class of anti-depressants called SS RI. They help your brain balance a nuero-transmitter that you have not enough of. Allot of people have to try different anti-depressants before finding the one that works. Kind of like trying on shoes, some fit some don't. Seroquil will zonk you out big time. Xanax or alprazolam can zonk you out too. It takes a while you to get used to the side effects. I have taken all of the drugs you mentioned and did just fine. AND they helped me. Be sure to keep good communication with your psych and mention and concerns or questions you have. If he blows you off go find another. Prozac can take up to 4 weeks to become effect. Be patient with your self and the meds.

The causal behind depression is a conflict between rage and grief at some level within ones MIND. What drugs do is interfere with the communication between ones MIND and ones brain so that one is no longer aware of that conflict.
The best way to deal with depression is to address ones fear of either the rage, or the grief [which is often a fear of losing control]. But there is little money to be made in dealing with such problems. Right?
From your description, I would suggest that the fear is one of intensity of emotional energy. Which points back to a fear of being wrong.... if you exhibit strong emotions. A guess....
You might see if the drugs will allow you to process some memory, and if so, then let yourself drift back in memory to some childhood memories where you were scolded harshly for espressing your point of view.
Peace

Quit all your drugs. I am not a fan of medicating our problems. Learn to deal with life head on. You can empower yourself with problem solving skills, and therapeutic communication.
