It is OK, when you change the it can take up to two weeks to get your system in balance. As the days past you Will become more settle.
However for the moment you need to talk to your Dr. and tell her your fears. Or find a professional counselor( assuming your Dr is a GP style of Dr.) this person can also help you work with the feeling you have at this time.
You may sleep because of your depression so try to get some exercise, walk , even go for a ride with someone. Try to relax your way.. you have had so many answer this question because they wanted to help you So you reach out for help and got it in so may ways.
Take care my friend the world is going in the right direction

New medications are worrisome. But I recently switched from Zoloft to Cymbalta and got off Seroquel and added Ambien. I was scared as well. You never know, but I think that it is worth giving something a shot if depressions eats away at you. I am a more patient giving person with the people around me. If you feel like you wanna sleep all day, do it. Your body is telling you to rest. Depression can and will be exhausting even if you don't do much else. I stayed in my bed for 3 days when I first got on Zoloft 3 years ago and was great until this summer. My body had gotten to used to it I guess so my DOC switched me to the Cymbalta. That switch was really difficult and it took me 9 days to really snap out of my zone! This shyte takes time, don't worry. You will be fine i never took prozac but I am sure your doc felt like it was a good match for you. Hope you feel better and soon..... Peace out and have a restful day!

Not to frighten you more then you already are but I did not have good luck with prozac. I am bipolar and have been all my life from the time I were born and when I was a young teen I would become violent due to my anger, "I" broke this habit! For years I was in contol of my anger and outbursts, but then when I turned 23 and they gave me prozac for my depression about three mos. later I found I was violent all over again and everything I worked so hard to change came rushing back with no control! That same week I took myself off from it I smashed just about everything I owned- did a lot of damage.... What works well for me is Paxil and the fact that for 5 years I walked around with a calendar writing down my every mood compairing it with the cycles of the moon, PMS and throughout the month now I can predict my behavior no matter what mood! I am not on any meds. for my bipolar now and haven't been for 6 years. Although I take one to two pills of paxil during PMS only to control the anxiety and mood swings during PMS there are some months I don't even have to take one or two pills it's just there when and if I need it. It is more for the bad PMS that I have rather then my chemical imbalance but during PMS my bipolar is worse and the mixture is often frightening and not safe for me. Hope this helps... Good luck

I was on prozac, along with diazpham and paxil.
Prozac made me feel really tired and sleepy. I felt like I was going crazy for days but I think its like pazil, it takes a couple of days for it to take effect. Dont worry you will find the right medication that works for you. Paxil worked for me and I am now off all medications. Good Luck!

I have never taken Prozac. I was on effexor. Even worse. I found that if I kept a journal and wrote down my feelings and took a walk( about 30 minutes a day) I felled better. Good Luck.

Sorry, I've never been on Prozac... I've been on Wellbutrin for several years now, and it's worked great, with no apparent side effects. Don't be scared to try a new medication, I've had to try several before I found one that seemed to work (I'd taken Zoloft and Celexa before). If after a few days you don't feel right, call your doctor.

wow, i have never been on it, but i work as a pharmacy tech and i am very familiar with these drugs.

maybe you should go to bed, until you are used to the possible side effects. it is very certain that your body may be experiencing a set back or a change that is effecting your day to day activity.

take it easy, as long as you do not have thoughts of suicide, or severe depression, it is working for you.
but, if these symptoms should occur, i urge you to go to your doctor/hospital asap.
i hope you feel better.

First thing is you know ur depressed, so do something abou it instead of crying your scared. You are the only person who can get rid of ur fears, so put your mind in something else, and stop your medication. Take ur responsibilities seriously. keep telling urself u can do it and c wht a success u become. all the best
