I get the same feeling...almost like a pinching sensation sometimes...my doc said it was the baby putting pressure on that area and beginning to move the pelvic bone...Sorry to say but it will only get worse, I'm 39 weeks and 5 days, sometimes I think I am just gonna fall in the floor when I'm walking around Wal-Mart...:-/

Well I'm a mother of two and my 3 rd on the way. First of all we really need to know how far along you before we could acturally give you any real advice on what could be wrong. I'm guessing for you to be having this pain your in your 3rd trimester. I had alot of cramping in my 3rd with my daughter. Most OB's though usually have you come in when your in so much pain. I recommend you either find a new Dr or vist the E.R. This could possibly be something serious or it could just be the uterus and ligaments streching to adjust for the baby.

It is not your sciatic nerve has that runs down your butt cheek/hip area and causes numbness or pain.

If you think it is your crotch chances are it is adjusting to some contractions you may not be feeling. Old wives have a tale that it means you are pregnant with a girl, especially if this happens around your 4-6th month.

I agree it is most likely ligaments and stretching, please call the Dr.'s office and find out if you can take something for it. Also try applying heat to help loosen up your muscles. A nice hot bath may help with this.

Good Luck!

Congratulations, you're a daddy. Seriously, there's no way to stop a pregnancy from happening at this point other than getting an abortion. Maybe in the future, your lady friend should think about going on the pill to aid the condoms in keeping her baby free.

I don't remember having pains like that while lying down, but I remember having them a LOT when I was at work (the job I had @ the time kept me on my feet for a full 8-9 hours). Like you said, it hurts BAD!! The pains would just about take my breath away.I'm not sure what causes them, but I'd like to know, too!! The pains I had would last under a minute. If your pains are lasting long periods of times, I'd go back to the doctor.

I'm almost 7 months happens to me to all the time. Feels like a pulled muscle, pressure, or a nerve of something in the vagina My doc also said it's common more common in later pregnancy with a 2 ed or 3rd baby I'm pregnant with my 3rd he said it's rare in a 1st baby.

It is NOT normal to suffer you way you describe.

the first question is did your doctor go through serious examination with radio or was it just his 'opînion'??

In any instance, get a SECOND advice: very often opinions vary depending on doctors, how scary it may sound like.

If the second one has same opinion, then you may be very sensitive and I do not want to imagine the real birth moment. If opinion of second doctor is different, then you will have evidence that something requires further validation.

Cheers,

It would help to know how many months pregnant you are, but I'm going to guess you're at least seven months pregnant and that the changes in your body cause a nerve to be pinched--especially when you're laying down.
BTW: This is not caused by "ligaments stretching." That's a catch-all phrase most commonly used for the early stretching that one feels in the lower abdomen.
Hang in there. You're in the home stretch!

I'm 37.3 weeks and I have similar "pain". A lot is happening now as your body prepares for the big event..and yes ligaments and such are stretching at this point. Nothing to worry about..it's normal. Good luck to you!!!
