KL have meter taxis so basically its RM2 for the first 2km and 10 cents for the next 200 meter or 2 minutes(traffic jams). it goes double from 12am till 6am.
to twin tower: RM5-8 (just a couple of km)
to Bkt bintang: RM5-8
to sunway: RM12-18 (about 10-15km)

Basically taxis don't go by the meter in KL. A request to the driver to do so will usually only earn you an unpleasant response, or no response at all. This is currently causing a whole lot of outrage with Malaysians, so a clampdown is possible. Stick to public transport to avoid an unpleasant experience, and this actually makes good sense with the traffic situation there. Chinatown to Bkt Bintang is quite a walkable distance. Head past the Swiss Garden Hotel and turn left at the following junction. Else take the monorail. Chinatown to Sunway can be done by a mixture of Monorail and Kommuter. Chinatown to KLCC is by LRT.

All cabs here charge by the meter.
They start off with RM 2 flat and 10 cents for the next few subsequent km.
For route #1, use the Putra LRT, alight off at Central Market where you can head to Chinatown.
Then board back the same LRT to head towards the Twin Towers. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
For route #2, use the monorail to head toward Titiwangsa, it stops right smack in the heart of Bukit Bintang area.
As for the last route #3, use our bus service. There're several located just outside the Puduraya shopping complex situated across Chinatown.

1. from chinatown to tiwn tower
- it's best to travel by LRT. there's a LRT station opposite of central Market, i think the ticket price is less than RM2
2. frm Chinatown to bkt bintang -
- for cheaper rate, travel by monorail. There's a monorail station named MAHARAJALELA at the end of chinatown street , some where near the merdeka stadium, it's quite far, but if u don't mind walking a few extra metres, i think it's a better choice. From Maharajalela station, youi'll have to board a monorail to the following stations: "Bukit Bintang Station" or "Imbi - if u are going to Times Square" to reach ur destination.
3. frm Chinatown to Sunway
- Get a cab...make sure u ask the cab driver to turn his meter on, if he refuses, just leave, don't get cheated. Make sure the meter starts from RM2 or RM5 (i'm not sure which)

Chinatown to Mid Valley is about RM 7 - 8 by taxi. You can ride the Putra LRT and then interchange at KL Sentral to take the KTM Komuter which takes you to Mid Valley. This cost RM 2 - 3.
