My mother Margaret has a chronic neorogical syndrome called CRPS, and she gets muscle and nerve spasms all the time, the best non prescription thing for it is heat, try a hot water bottle, or a heat pack.
Hope this helps

Fiona

Check with your doctor if the spasms bring you pain, however if not try eating bananas, they contain potassium and are a good source of vitamin D. If you're working out regularly, muscle spasms are a regular thing. Since your muscles contract and release they also grow and stretch, so the spasms show this, but they feel funny when they do.

I suffer from back spasms, I was told to alternate an ice pack for up to 20 mins and then heat the next time around, although I have tried the heat, I tend to prefer the ice, feels a lot better. I was also on all kinds of meds and narcotics for this and I found that the only thing that seemed to work for me was taking a tylenol and an ibuprofin together! I found that going to the chiropractor releases a lot of the muscle tightness.
Hope you get better.

I like to recommend calcium-magnesium-zinc tablets 3 times a day with meals for muscle spasms and cramps. Also, eat several pieces of fruit a day to increase your potassium intake. Low magnesium and potassium can both aggravate crampy muscles. Valerian root is a good natural muscle relaxer too but it does cause drowsiness (most people take it to help them get to sleep).
If your cramps persist you may have to see a doctor and try to find out what is causing them.
Good luck!

while in medication by using warm water even in bathing, try to avoid drinking cold water always drink hot tea to make you perspire or sweat.muscle spasm is caused by cool air that entered your muscle after working or moving too fast like biking, running, walking etc.to remove this you have to massage the area using liniment and after massage avoid washing or taking a bath for 8 hours or more.

Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant. You can buy it at any grocery, drug store or health food store.
It will make you drowsy, so be careful until you see how you respond to it. Take it right before you go to bed the first time.

You are not going to believe it. I dont, but my Mother puts a bar of ivory soap between the bed and the sheets down by her legs and she says it works. It must be the weirdest home remedy I have ever heard of.
