Bronchitis is a secondary problem most of the time and not contagious but depending on what caused it the original cold, flu,etc could still be around. If caused by sinus or allergy your fine.

Bronchitis means "inflammation of the tubes leading to the lungs."

It can be caused by a million things, some of them contagious germs. It can also be part of a medical syndrome called "COPD" otherwise known as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which is found in long-time smokers that have emphysema and such.

I believe people with Tuberculosis do a lot of coughing that resembles bronchitis. TB is contagious when the person is in active disease and they are in an enclosed area such as a hospital. This is why TB patients are isolated and masked.

So, it depends how the person got the bronchitis. On what the agent is (the bug).

It would depend much on the virility and variety of the the invading organism. It is not something which seems to be passed around the family, very often.

no, it is an inflammatory condition, if infection is suspected your doctor will prescribe antibiotics, but more than 90% of times it should not be contagious, good luck
