Jessica Lange should have the baby...she was the better parent.

they should both have a role in raising the child. The mother forfeit her right to be the only care giver to that child when she smoked crack. Unfortunately, the Lange character unintentionally didn't follow all the laws in adopting the baby.
Since the mother cleaned herself up and did what she had to do to be considered a proper candidate to even sue, I agree she should have been given visitation rights. I don't think in real life she would have received full custody. She blew it with the crack pipe. Morally, the Lange character should have kept the baby and the mother been give regular visitation.
Gosh, that boy was so cute. His eyes made me cry.

Are you talking about Losing Isiah with Halle Berry? That is such a sad movie. I think it was good that Halle Berry's character got the baby, because she is his real mother and she tried really hard to get her life together. At the same time it was really sad for him to be taken away from the family he had known for so long.

I like the way it ended, Isiah needed both of them in his life. His mother to be a mother and Jessica Lange to help him (and his mother). I wish more people in real life could make that kind of compromise for the kid's sake.
