The video contains photos & video clips I've taken of her over the last year. I'm looking for a song for the video--her name is Lauren and she'll be 9. She's a really sweet little girl--funny, smart, athletic (she was MVP of her softball team)... I'm considering Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely"... still looking for suggestions... Thank you!

I would go for something she might like, I have a seven Y/O girl and her favorites include:
Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney
Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson
Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride off the Lilo & Stich soundtrack
Wish I by Jem
Hey Now by Hillary Duff
Picutre by Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow (not really kid friendly)
and maybe the best one
Daughters by John Mayer

Mr. Wonder's song is great but it is probably overused.

Try Natalie Merchant's song "Wonder". It is beautiful. It is on the Tiger Lily Album. The video is nice too. May give you some ideas.

Here is a taste:

O, I believe
Fate smiled and destiny
Laughed as she came to my cradle
Know this child will be able
Laughed as my body she lifted
Know this child will be gifted
With love, with patience and with faith
She'll make her way

"My Girl" (not sure who this is by)
"Wind Beneath my Wings" by Bette Midler
"Fingerprints of God" Steven Curtis Chapman

Have fun making it! Can I make another suggestion? Maybe put video clips of her friends from her softball team saying hi to her and happy birthday? I know I would treasure that when I got older.

perhaps butterfly kisses by bob carlisle [there are other versions as well], wonderful world [i like louie armstrong's version best myself], turn around [harry belefonte, kingston trio, the wayfarers, the letterman, etc. all have versions}, or white daisy passing by rocky votolato, or corinne bailey rae has a new hit called "put your records on". my little sister is 9 and likes them too. And they'll be classic for years to come. all would be beautiful. hope these are of some help.
