speed of the car=50mph

6 minutes has nothing to do with it. Every 10 miles, the car uses a gallon. How many times is 10 contained in 50? How many times is 10 miles contained in 50 miles? So, how many gallons does the car use in 50 miles? And does that take it an hour? Work through that SLOWLY, and you will see it.

At 50 miles per hour the car will go 50 miles in one hour.
At 10 miles per gallon the car will use 5 gallons in 50 miles.
therefore: the car will use 5 gallons in one hour
