Poorly educated in the public school systems, driven to believe what the media and talking heads want them to believe...ignorance is bliss...sheep...stitck their heads in the ground, etc, etc. They are more apt to believe a forwarded piece of crap Email than doing research (meaning both sides of every issue and not by listening to talking head talk show hosts from extreme right or extreme left TV...but truly truly exploring FACTS) Overall - the answer comes down to laziness & complacity. They don't even realize they are being controlled.
Sad ..but makes me angry as that is a big part of why the world is so screwed up today...Bill O'Reilly (gaggin) said it ..or some Celebrity said it (and what do they really know?)...then someone is apt to believe..and ONLY believe what they say and never occur to them they might be wrong; and all that is really happening is those talking heads are saying what they know their target audiance wants to hear to keep them coming back - (or rather they are saying what their writers write for them)..so..they can sell chevys and dish soap and dog-food etc...and NO other reason. Poor sheep fall for it - and the next day around the water cooler you hear them repeating exactly what they heard on the tv..and that has become their opinion. People no longer know how to think on their own as our grandparents did.

These days, if someone's great Aunt Fanny sent them a forwarded message that sez that Andy Rooney said something...(of which he hasn't said any of what he has been lauded to have said) then they think it's true. Sheep..Idiots...Ignorance. Just TRY and convince someone he never said that - lol - they actually get angry...send them SNOPES which will tell them it's untrue...hell, send them Andy Rooney's own website stating those stories aren't true...the next day - they'll get another one ...and forward it on to their friends...and still believe it and still repeat it..lol..ridiculous...that stuff and all the other UNtrue crap flying through forwarded emails these days. Sad.

Remember...research is only research if you research both sides of an issue or question..and sometimes (more often) there is more than two sides...good for you for doing so.

Sometimes people are ignorant in the way we ask or answer, so that's why we believe what we have hear. Have you heard about Jesus? Do you believe he really came? My answer to that question is Yes, because we have evidence to show. Now, if you believe or not, is another story to solve and discuss what's going on. And......by the way....you're not an idiot....you're a very smart person even when I haven even seen a fingernail from you. Have a great day!

No matter how ridiculous some arguments are, people prefer to be right and ridiculous than to be proved wrong. When people believe everything they hear, it is usually because they rely on only one or two sources of information. If these sources are wrong they do not use any other recourses to check if the facts are indeed correct.

I believe that these people are insecure and need they need to feel that they are important. You are not an idiot for researching this, but it is not to prove them. It is to provide information that you are interested. in other feelings that are important to you.
