Led Zeppelin. Because it was always, 100%, about their music, and not being on the cover of some shitty mag.

I would probably go with the Beatles as well. They were a great example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. Sure, they were/are all talented on their own, but when they got together something ineffable occurred and they made musical magic.
That said, I would not want to live in a world without The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Gang of Four, Joy Division, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Spoon, Belle & Sebastian, Sly & the Family Stone, Mott the Hoople, Nirvana, Talking Heads, etc.!

The greatest Rock band is without a doubt AC/DC as they have the best song ever written in " You Shook me all Night Long".Why this is the best ever is because everyone knows it .You go to a dance Club and the only Rock song that will get played and people will dance , you go to a wedding and everyone from 6 to 60 will dance to it .People that don't dance will get up to dance to it, I know it and so do you. And it isn't even my favorite AC/DC song , hell it's not even a Bon Scott song and the worst Bon song is better than the best Brian Johnson but I can't argue the reach that it has.

The Beatles- They changed music, fashion and the world. With the exception of The Rolling Stones, most pop bands still in existence owe their style and lifestyles to the Beatles.

I think the best band is the one that you only have to mention their name to anyone from 9 -90 years of age and they either start singing a song by them or they say something like "I remeber when I saw them live at The Cavern", it has to be THE BEATLES they're legend.

The Beatles - they were a self-contained unit, writing and playing their own material, with all four members contributing - they changed the way music was presented, changed the way it was marketed, and changed the role music played in society as a whole. All of their albums stand among the best ever made.
Name me 3 others as qualified
