I have a psychology paper due on any individual that made headline news due to their tormented psychological state. For example, John Karr, he was the man that claims to have killed Jon Benet Ramsey or Derrick Todd Lee, the serial killer in Louisiana. I need some ideas...The 2 individuals I named, someone is already doing research on them. Please help! I need a interesting person!

Patty Hearst was kidnapped and then she claims "brainwashed" to help the SLA (Symbionese Liberation Army) rob a bank...police officers were killed in the attempt. The ensuing media coverage and trial were interesting to psychologists because her lawyer claimed that she suffered from something called the "Stockholm Syndrome" where captives become sympathetic to their captors.
Anyway I know there is a ton of info out there on this topic and it is one that I'm sure nobody will think of.

Ted Bundy would be really interesting in my opinion. On the suface he was a mild mannered guy, but underneath he was a killer.
He is thought to be the first real serial killer.
