Rude people! Why do you feel you have to insult to get your point across?

Question

I can be guilty of this myself, at times, but I want to know where this rudeness come from in others. My rudeness comes from not being able to control my environment when I was a teen. I couldn't tell my aunt not to hurt me or I'd get abused even worse then I was.

Please! This is a psychological question and I request that you do not answer and call me names because you're wasting my time.

It's a natural reaction to being in a frustrating situation. As your temper escalates you begin to lose control and stop paying attention to what your saying...next thing you know out comes a rude remark.

With practice you can develop more patience and this will happen less frequently, but it happens to all of us at some point or another.

It was shocking to cruise down the Homework Help section yesterday and find some REALLY rude comments from someone who posted two requests for help with homework! Some of the students are thoughtful enough to add a thank you, but this one was a total jerk! Amazing that he thinks people are going to line up to help him when he's so uncivil about it.
Sorry -- just a personal rant. But it really ticked me off.

I'm sometimes rude because I'm not paying attention or I'm thinking about something else and say or do things without thought.

I think it is because people are lost in their own thought and don't realize that they are being rude....or....they are angry at something in their own lives and take it out on others.

I think people are reading into behavior too much. I am rude because people are stupid, and not because my daddy was mean to me..
