An ultrasound won't really be of much help until you are about 8 weeks along - it's very hard to find anything until there is a yolk sac. With my second pregnancy, we had to have an early U/S to determine when I got pregnant, and we found the yolk sac at 8 weeks, but had to go in again at 10 weeks to find the baby.
I recommend you wait a few days (a week if you can stand it), and try testing again. If that is still negative, and you haven't had your period yet (and it is past due), I would call the doctor and see about getting a blood test.
Good Luck!

First off, you need to wait at least 3 weeks after your missed period before you take a home pregnancy test. I have two babies and with both of them, it took 3 weeks for it to show up on a pregnancy test.
So if it has been 3 weeks and it is still negative, then your not pregnant. But if you want to make sure, call your doctor and make an appointment to get a blood test done. They wont do an ultrasound on you. The only time you will get an ultrasound is when your actually pregnant and they want to see exactly how far along you are.

Have you had a blood test? If you have, and more than once.. I would probably trust that you are not pregnant.. even more so since you think you are in the second trimester.
They can find out through a pelvic exam instead of a ultrasound.. and it is much cheaper..
Lots of pregnancy symptoms can be misleading.. and are often the same symptoms that women get for other female or hormonal related issues.
Best of luck to you..

A blood test is really the best option. An Ultrasound may not be as accurate, especially if you recently became pregnant, since the embryo is still too small. Figure that at 6-8 weeks of pregnancy all they can really see is the sac and that's not a positive indication of a viable pregnancy. The blood test will test your HCG levels and that should help determine whether or not you are pregnant. Hope this helps!

You can get a blood test. If you're pregnant then HCG levels will show in your blood. Yes, an ultrasound will be able detect as well b/c if there is a fetus present you will be able to see it. Not to scare you but you could have had a miscarriage and even have known about it and your body is trying to get back to normal. I've had 3 miscarriages and didnt know of one until it was time for me to come on and something was different. Now I'm pregnant and this will be the first baby to make it.
You should talk to a OB/GYN doctor though. Good Luck...

Try not to stress too much about it, go to your doctor and get a blood test. I think i am pregnant and i would only be maybe 3 weeks gone if i am. All tests are negative but i spoke with my nurse and she says this is a regular occurance. She told me to wait a week then go and get a more in depth urine test (although i might ask her to do a blood test instead) in 1 week i will be 2 weeks late.
Good Luck and i hope you get the result you want.

No a Blood Pregnancy test is the MOST accurate next to a ultrasound. A doctor can provide that test.

You would have to be 5 1/2 weeks pregnant for an ultrasound to detect it. Go to your doctor and have a blood test done. If you have already done that and still feel you are pregnant, you need to talk to your doctor about it. There may be something else going on.

Do a blood test. If you have insurance you should only have to pay your co-pay. If you dont then any type of sono is gonna run you over 1500 out of pocket and I dont know how much for the pelvic exam but I know it is alot. If you are not insured go to a clinic and the first thing they should do is a blood test.

Get a blood test done. Your doctor may also perform an ultrasound. HPTs work by detecting a certain hormone (HcG??? I think...not sure if I've got that right). Some women's bodies just don't produce enough of the hormone to be detected. Good luck!!
