I finally got my period today. It was about 2 weeks late. Now I'm having awful cramping. I'm going to buy some Midol and hope that works. It's also really heavy. Do you think it could be a miscarriage? I don't have health insurance so I can't go see a doctor. I also tried calling our local clinic and they said all they could do was put me on birth control. So unless the pain gets too unbearable I'm not going to a doctor. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

When your period is late, you get build up inside of you, so when you do have a period you can have severe cramping, even nauseous. I wouldn't worry, it should feel better in a couple of days. If it doesn't or you run a fever then you have to go to the doctor.

Your having cramps. Sometimes cramps can hurt really really bad.
I had a miscarrage at 6 weeks. I bleed really heavy for about a week and then I felt a little pressure and went to the bathroom and sat on the toilet, the baby fell out into the toilet. RIght when I sat down I heard this plop. I got up and looked and it was a round little ball. It was about the size of a Quarter. I got it out of the toilet and put it in a plastic container and called my doctor. I took it into them.
It was the hardest emotional experience every.
If you were only two weeks late, you might not even know when you have a miscarrage becaue your not far enough along. At six weeks it was only the size of a Quarter. IT was a thick round ball that the baby was in so I didn't actually see the baby inside. There was no way, I was going to open the little ball sac to see my baby. I couldn't handle doing that.
I was so mad at my doctor because at my last doctors appointment I was bleeding and he did a vaginal ultrasound and couldn't find a heartbeat and at 6 weeks a baby usually has a heartbeat. I was mad because he didn't even warn me that I could miscarry because I was bleeding.
And when you bleed, you miscarry.
So in my opinion your period is off because of some other reason due to health or exercise. Or you could have a miscarage but you wont know it because your not far enough along. You can take a pregnancy test and see if it says positive. If its negative then your not pregnant and your period was late for some other reason. Because if your miscaring, your pregnancy test will still say posistive.
I hope I have helped some.

i did when i was very young. it was in fact a miscarriage. sometimes early miscarriages dont require anything more. alot of pregnancies end in miscarriage without the woman even knowing she was pregnant to begin with. they're like a heavy period. i do think you should try and see a doctor, if it is a miscarriage you may need a d & c. i didn't get one, because i didn't know i had miscarriage and i didn't get pregnant again until i was 25 (8 years later) and wasn't able to carry that baby either. i'm now 33 and still hoping for my first.

Hello =) Im so sorry you are going through this.

When you have a miscarriage, you will pass whiteish gray tissue that is pretty large in size. I have had 2 miscarriages and both times I passed the pregnancy tissue myself. If this continues, you should go to the doctor. You know your body, and you know what is normal and what isn't. I hope you feel better soon.

I have had a miscarriage. And it's very possible that is what you are going threw. But I was 7 weeks.. I never went to the doctor either. But you are suppose to go to be cleaned out so nothing is left behind inside you. When I had my misscarrage.. What was passing threw me was much bigger then any clot. But since you are only 2 weeks late.. I wouldn't chance it.. But I would go to the doctor to be on the safe side.

It can just be your regular period. Two weeks it pretty short. Sometimes when it is delayed - by stress or whatever - it is extra heavy

You might try calling Planned Parenthood - some of them, like CA have a sliding scale.

Hang in there.

It sounds like one to me. If the pain persists for another day or so i would defiantly go to the hospital. That's for your own sake. If you are having a miscarriage if you don't take care of it you can catch an infection in your uterus and become sterile. Just pay the hospital off in payments. Good Luck!

it's most likly not a miscarriage...i have awful cramps...and i'm always late... your period is suppose to be monthly but every woman is different . if you still feel like it's a miscarriage...i would see a doctor...insurance or not....having it still inside of you can cause alot of infection and could kill you....i know someone it happend to.....so don't let it happen to you.

have u had pain in your left shoulder at all? How about large thick clumps coming out of you? If it was just cramps and 'normal' bleeding Id say no, If there was any deferred pain in shoulder then quite possibly. Get checked out, if u have u may need a D&C
