I usually do unless I'm in a giant hurry to wear it. Think of all the people who have tried it on before you bought it, it always disgusts me.

HELLO................"new" clothes are not always "new" sometimes they are returned clothes or tried on clothes and the thought of putting something on my body that might have sweat from someon else just gives me the willies, I'm not saying anything bad, everyone sweats and even if something is on for a minute or less that person's DNA is there--I'm a nurse I see way too much to NOT wash my clothes when I bring them home. I know you can not get anything from wearing clothes other people wear (well technically you can, that's another post, pending on what it is) but its more of a hygeine issue with me, I would want someone to wash something I wore before they put it on, its just a nice thing to do. I'll get off my soap box (HAHAHA) and leave now.........

Yes. I don't care for the smell of new clothes except leather. And i wash the wools in hot water. Don't want scabies. You can this from people trying on wool fabrics. Have to be careful with wool. Those skin bugs love wool.
Take care.

Alls it took was walking past someone nasty and smelly in the store to start washing them, just think of how many people leave public bathrooms nasty, thoughs are the people trying on the clothes you buy!!!

When textiles are knit or woven, the threads have oil on them. When garments are manufactured, these oils may or may not be washed out; so you should always wash any new washable garment before you wear it for the first time.

It depends on how anxious I am to wear the new clothes. I usually try to wash them first, but not always.

yes I always wash them first. Some say that it doesn't matter because you already tried it on, but I think it's best to wash new clothes first.
