Go with the Bible - start with the book of Acts and the ones that follow. Your desire to "talk with angels" suggests to me a very weak foundation upon which to build a faith - i.e. you'll believe God on the condition that he send you your own personal angel with whom you can interact on a sensory level. Such a thing would make faith - that which God seeks from you - irrelevant - even the most devout Moslem would turn to Christ if Christ God were to send him his own personal angel who pops out of no where and flies around on her wings performing miracles and proclaiming her devotion to Christ the Lord. God is not going to put on a show for you to help your unbelief - He wants your belief based on His word having touched your soul - any other faith is cheap. You will find His word and everything you need for an adundant, fulfilling and happy life - not entirely free of sorrow of course because we all must lose loved ones and ourselves die one day - but a life of fulfillment with God giving you strength when it's needed - it's all in the Bible - it may not be "cool" since the Truth is not new and never changes - but it's all in there.

Personally I find the best book on this subject to be the Bible. You may be tempted to discard this option off-hand, but - before doing so, ask yourself if you are discarding it because of what others have said about it. Most of those who claim that the Bible is not useful have not read it. A large number of those who have read the Bible have found it to be helpful in this area. So I would suggest you start there, and then decide what kind of other books you would want to read.

Thruthfully i am surprised no one has sadi this, but check out Slvia Brown's books, they are supposed to be amazing. So is apprently in communication with her guardian angel, and tell people the things that they talk about. As crazy as it sounds it seems much more realistic after reading the books

Best one that I have read is " A return to Love" by Marianne Williamson. VERY VERY helpful, mind opening and renews your faith.
It is a reflection of the "A course in Miracles"
I know that you will enjoy it and it WILL bring the comfort you seek and need.
