okay, I guess I am trying to understand if a community can be anything like the communities we live or work in etc. So would medical, legal, educational be communities and the people we address in the community is the audience?

No...they are your peers. People who present their work to an audience just like you. People in a reading/writing community are often in the audience, but are not the audience.

Yes, if you are writing a text targeted at that community.
