This is a great off brand knock off ipod. I have one and love it so much. Videos, music, pictures,games,phonebook, and you can store files on it like a flash pen drive. I love mine! It comes with its own converter software. To put stuff on it just drag and drop. Below is just an example of what they look like and the price.

Try SanDisk has e200 series 6gb to 8 gb running $200-$250 respectively. This is using flash memory videos can't be very large files.
You can also check out Creative Labs they have products that compete directly with video iPod.

If you want a cheap (often brand new) mp3 player, check eBay. There are many wholesale sellers there willing to give you a great deal. Otherwise, just check bestbuy.com or circuitcity.com and look at all of their players--they have tons beyond the iPods.
