I am wondering if there are any costs involved with artificial insemination if you use a donor that you know (a friend, for example). This is of course aside from the visiting fee of seeing the doctor and paying for the services s/he provides.
I think there isn't and the websites I've visited have not mentioned a single thing about bringing in a known donor. But I have a friend who would be willing to help us out.
If anyone knows or has gone through with it please let me know.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had AI done with my husband when we first started our fertility treatments. I had to take ovulation induction medication and had several visits before the insemination occurred. However in my hometown (WV) the actual insemination costs $300.00.

Good Luck

A fee would be agreed to between you if there is one. The donor will miss some time out of work or need to pay for child care so it would be a good idea to offer compensation. A good friend would offer the money since it isn't always affordable to miss work.
