You seem to be very disrespectful towards Hawkings. Please remember he is not only a genius but also a very patient and an understanding man who did a lot of work inspite of his physical disability.
I have not found any other scientist except Hawking who took the trouble of explaining the universe to a layman.
And why does it matter in what accent a man speaks in?
Hawkings is a very simple and a nice person . I dont understand how people can be so rude to such a meaningful person as Mr Stephan Hawking.
I have a great respect for Mr Stephan Hawkings and it was only because of him that i could understand quantum physics.

However David Mason, of Cambridge Adaptive Communication, fitted a small portable computer and a speech synthesizer to my wheel chair. This system allowed me to communicate much better than I could before. I can manage up to 15 words a minute. I can either speak what I have written, or save it to disk. I can then print it out, or call it back and speak it sentence by sentence. Using this system, I have written a book, and dozens of scientific papers. I have also given many scientific and popular talks. They have all been well received. I think that is in a large part due to the quality of the speech synthesiser, which is made by Speech Plus. One's voice is very important. If you have a slurred voice, people are likely to treat you as mentally deficient: Does he take sugar? This synthesiser is by far the best I have heard, because it varies the intonation, and doesn't speak like a Dalek. The only trouble is that it gives me an American accent.

Where ever he lives means he ups the average IQ of that area quite a bit. I wish he would come and live near me and then I could say I live in a neighbourhood where the average IQ is 188. He could also thrash me at chess on a daily basis which would be fun.

He uses a voice synthesizer, so the way he speaks is not his real speech.
What's really pretentious about him is that he dumped his wife of many years to marry his nurse. For a man in his condition, THAT'S pretentious.

That question is not kind. He does his best in a very difficult situation, and has even developed theories of maths and space which no one else has done. His voice synthesiser talks in an American accent, and he cannot talk normally.

Stephen Hawkins uses a machine to speak -It is not his voice he can not talk for himself the machines accent is generated by the programmers. So if he is pretentious it is not for that reason.

He can't really speak, due to a muscular disease. He types into a machine which speaks for him, and the recording was done by an American.

Actually, he quite hates the American accent. It isn't his fault - what you hear is a computer program. He can't talk on his own.

Oh, you've just seen the Ricky Gervaise video have you? If you are going to use people's work, you should at least acknowledge them, or it's plagarism.
