I am getting married in 3 1/2 weeks and I was considering getting the spray tan to give me some color. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what they think of it. Especially people with fair skin.

I should have added that I don't take color at all. I actually am as tan as I will ever be in that picture.....pretty funny, huh.

Well, I've tried the tanning beds and they don't do anything for me whatsoever.

No spray tans. Those things do not flatter a woman. Although your skin is fair, it is the natural you which is more attractive than a yellowfied tanned version of you.

I have a friend who does it all the time and it always looks great! Because you have really fair skin, you need to get it done at a tanning salon rather then a do it yourself type thing. I would highly reccomend that you try it out before the wedding, just to see how the color actually looks on your skin tone. If it doesnt look right, then try the tanning beds again.. the beds with the newest bulbs always work best. Use the lotions also.. you will definitely end up with some color, i assure you! Good luck and Congrats on the marriage!!! :)

Spray on cans out of a bottle No. But going to have a spray on tan at a tanning booth depends. I know a few people who have had them done and it looked like a real tan afterwards. With fair skin however it might make you look orange kinda as if you used the instant tanners that you would use at home. Going from fair to dark is going to be a dramatic change (i would think) My best advise is to go to a tanning salon and ask the consultant what she has observed with fair skin clients or maybe ask some of the clients themselves.

Here is a link that tells you how spray on tans work:

Most of the spray on tans look very good, if you go to a good place. Make sure to follow the directions they give you at the salon. There are other points to ask yourself, does your husband to be like your fair skin? Why would you try something new that you don't know how you will look so soon before the most important day of your life. The husband question was just a little reminder that even though the man doesn't dote over wedding days like women it is just as important to them too. My girl has very fair skin as well and unless it was natural I wouldn't want her to show up spray painted for our wedding. She has done the spay on tan and it looked good just so you see my point.

Pale skin can really suit redheads but then again a nice suntan glow can look fantastic too. I would give the spraytan a go on one of the lower levels but remember they fade and can go patchy pretty quickly. I would try the sunbeds, you can use the more expensive creams with high levels of trf 2000 and melonin to help you obtain and maintain a healthy tan. start out with a small dose (4-6 minutes) then go 2 days later and increase it slowly until you have the desired effect.

Good luck,

use the sun.

no fakey tanning products no matter how expensive, reputable they are.. can do the job.

you'll look like you've been dipped in orange paint that was watered down and you'll have streaks and drips and patches all over the place.

drink some water... eat some cantaloup and sit in the sun 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks.

keep the moisturizers a coming also.

:D

it works.

no fakey tanning products you'll be the laughing stock!

besides a little sun never hurt a soul! it's good for you in small doses!

i've tried the spray tan and i wasn't thrilled with it. i'm very fair as well. what i do like is the coppertone oil free sunless tanner (you can order it online ifyou can't find it in stores this late in the season). when you put it on, put a thin coat of vaseline on your palms, around your finger nails, eye brows and also on your knuckles to prevent the product from make those areas dark. also, have a wet wash cloth handy to wipe off your palms as soon as your done. be careful to rub the product in thoroughly as well. i would start trying things out now because any mistakes will fade by your wedding date.

another great product is these new moisturizers with a touch of tanner. you put them on daily and there's very little room for mistakes because they're light and you put them on each day which means you cover the previous days' mistakes up. just remember to wash hands, etc. when done.

another tidbit is to not go too dark. just a shade or two darker than natural looks great. good luck and congratulations!!!

I talked with my husband about me doing a spray tan for our wedding. He seemed mystified, and said that he prefers me fair...
Looking at myself in the mirror that day, and at the pictures, I'm glad I didn't. I'm pale enough that I thought I might look washed out/dead in white, but I didn't.

My wife and I did mystic tan for our wedding...we got a lot of compliments about how "healthy" we looked. We also looked good in the pictures, even though we normally just looked washed out in flash pictures.

We're both very pail, and the mystic tan gave us a natural looking tan.

I say go for it!
