This service so far has provided nothing but headaches.

The connection keeps going up and down. It takes over 30 minutes a pop on the phone ( which isnt free) to get through to Sky.

Has anybody had the same probs?

What has your experience been?

I am on the Sky Max product , which is £10 a month.

When you get through they have personnel who do not know what they are talking about.

I think this is a clear example of you get what you pay for. Whilst so-called 'free' broadband deals seem a great idea, they're only great when you don't have any problems. I know some ISP's subsidise their prices by charging premium rates for access to their helpdesk; (£1 + / min) but don't know if Sky does this.

IMHO - the test of a good ISP is how they deal with customers problems. Whilst BT isn't the cheapest, I've been a BT broadband customer since they launched broadband (and was an ISDN 'Home Highway' customer prior to that.) I've found there service to be consistently good (in terms of connections speed and reliability) and their helpdesk first rate.

I've had 2 issues in over 5 years, and have always managed to quickly speak to someone on the BT broadband helpdesk.

Despite being tempted by the 'free' Sky offer, I wouldn't change the BT service for anything else.
