never interrupt your pill regimen. if you stop taking the pill you have to wait til the end of the month's supply or else you will have irregular bleeding for the entire month. if you continue to use the pill you periods will become lighter and lighter.

Yes, the pill will be effective. The imporant thing to remember is to use backup protection during the first month after you begin taking birth control. You may have ovulated prior to beginning the birth control. If this happens, you could still get pregnant. The best way to handle things is to use condoms for the first month, until your next period. At that point, your birth control cycle is in full swing, and you should be good to go ;)

Yes - but not until you've taken a week (ie 7 days) of the hormone tablets.

These are the tablets that are NOT in the smaller coloured section of your OCP packet (there should be about 7 of those ones in the coloured section and these are inactive pills - the rest have the hormone).

Until you have taken 7 hormone pills you are not covered and should use alternative contraception (abstain or use barrier methods)

if this is the very first time you've taken the pill, you're suppose to wait for about a week or so before you don't have to use a condom. the reason being is that your body needs to get use to it before you dont have to use any other form of contraception

yes it will be; however, doctors tell you to continue using condoms for up to a month if you are sexually active. until the pill gets into your system good, you may have abnormal periods.
