Your best bet is to see your doctor. their could be some other underlying condition that hasn't been found yet.

False negative readings can occur when testing is done too early. Quantitative blood tests and the most sensitive urine tests usually detect hCG shortly after implantation, which can occur anywhere from 6 to 12 days after ovulation.[1] Beta hCG levels rise exponentially in the first two months or so of pregnancy so the earlier the test is performed, the higher the chance of a false negative result. Less sensitive urine tests and qualitative blood tests may not detect pregnancy until three or four days after implantation. Menstruation occurs on average 14 days after ovulation, so the likelihood of a false negative is low once a menstrual period is late.

False positive results can result from diseases like choriocarcinomas, IgA deficiencies, heterophile antibodies, enterocystoplasties, gestational trophoblastic diseases (GTD), gestational trophoblastic neoplasms (GTN), and testicular germ cell malignancies. Also, many home pregnancy tests show a positive or unclear result when read well after the suggested 3-5 minute window, independent of an actual pregnancy; this type of false positive is also known as an evaporation line. Additionally anyone who has been given an hCG injection would also give a false positive.

Some individuals react to some substrate in the test and thus will display a consistently low positive blood pregnancy test even though they are not pregnant. This phantom hCG may lead to serious misdiagnosis and intervention, but can be detected with serial dilutions. Patients with phantom hCG have a positive blood hCG but a negative urine hCG test

A hormone imbalance could be the very reason why you haven't had your period in so long. Although, I have completely skipped a period a couple of times while I was on the pill.

I had a miscarriage once and my OB discovered that my uterus lining doesn't get thick enough to sustain a pregnancy, so I take estradiol (estrogen) on days 8-12 of my cycle while ttc to help thicken my lining and then take prometrium (progesterone) starting on day 16 to help sustain the lining. If I get pregnant, I take it until the end of my first trimester.

If you are not having any pregnancy symptoms and had a negative test, then I highly doubt you are pregnant. I would suggest waiting until your appt and discuss this with your OB. If it's really bothering you, try to get an earlier appt.

Good luck!

wait to see your doctor in the mean time you can take anther test it might be more accurate now. and not every women experiences every symptom during pregnancy so dont worry about that. if your hormones are really off balance that could be whats causing your to miss your period. the best advice i can give is be calm relax and wait until you see your doctor call the doctors office and see if there have been any cancelations or if you can get and earlier appionment.

If you have a hormone problem, that could be the cause of your missing period.

Can you not get a doctors appointment sooner?

Whatever it is, I hope that you're able to conceve quickly, when you decide to.

Stress, too obese, too anorexic, hormones due to that condition you have or pregnant, not enough sex during ovulation, partners sperm count too low or non-existant.....what is the answer? See your doctor, sunshine, because only he/she will be able to tell you. Phantom pregnancies usually have phantom symptoms too...so that probably isnt the answer.

maybe the hormone pills that your on are interacting with your body and preventing your period from coming...maybe you should move your appointment up to sooner with the doc if your really worried...stress can also be a reason to skip periods...
