I have heard the definition of forgiveness as " Knowing that the past cannot be anything other than what it was" In that sense I forgive, I do not forget, for that, I pray for the person that has hurt me and I pray for myself that I am more understanding of others. I think the example of Jesus life is most effective for me in my life. I really do like the phrase "What Would Jesus Do?" I know it is not what I really want to do sometimes, but my children are watching me and I am an example to them. I know that when I lay my head on my pillow at night, I can be at peace with who I have dealt with during the day and the choices I have made. For each person, it is different, it is a personal journey. Sometimes you just have to Let Go and Let God.

To forgive someone for a hurt, you must cease to resent that person for the hurt you suffered. As long as you resent the person you believe has hurt you, you will not be able to forgive. Your life will be consumed waiting for "that cold plate of revenge".
Jesus asked us to "love one another". The Lord's Prayer admonishes Our Father to "forgive our trespasses and those who trespass against us".

uh first of all i can see where the problem is.
if you need an excuse to be enabled for forgiveness well then i suppose revenge is the raw dish to be serviced.
sorry.
no words from no one can help you.
people just don't get it, you must find it in yourself if you can't do that then look around you why things are the way they are.
it's in you, don't wait around trying to see if another has the words, ability or whatever the 'buzz' is to make you have whatever it is you are lacking to make something happen.
it is not that hard.
it's so easy to be angry these days.
i guess we are doomed.
thank you.

Obviously you know that Jesus said that vengence is the Lord's. If you can't let go of anger & hurt, it hurts you more than it will them. I have seen things happen to people who have wronged me. (I call it kharma- what you do comes back to you, good or bad.) One guy was trying to have me fired. Instead, he was fired AND arrested! I had nothing to do with it. I can't say I didn't enjoy it. I'm still human.

you have to want to forgive them and let go of the pain, sadness and anger. it will really help you if you do. holding on to pain and anger is truly poison for your soul. as for jesus' words i'm the wrong person to answer that. good luck hun

If you seek revenge yourself then God can't handle the situation. Just pray and let God handle this person. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord and I shall repay.
