Drinking water and chewing gum do help a little bit.

One thing I've used with great success is to have HOT CEREAL for breakfast and for lunch. For example, rolled oats for breakfast (whole flakes, "old fashioned" oats that take 10 minutes to cook --not 5! not 1! -- ) and use non-fat dry milk instead of whole milk (you can't taste the difference in hot cereal). Go ahead and use a lot of non-fat dry milk so the liquid is bright white.

and then, at work, at the microwave, make "oat bran" for lunch and once it's cooked, stir in some raisons and add water and add non-fat dry milk.

WIth this breakfast and lunch, your stomach will continue to expand for several hours after eating because this two cereals are skyhigh in "soluable fiber."

With some gum, icewater, a banana for mid-morning snack and apple for mid-afternoon snack, you'll feel full all day and won't need candy or those death bombs from the snack cake jungle.

You sound like me talking! I used to eat all day long at my desk and then all night long, especially when stressed. Still do sometimes, but it's actually a habit, you will need to break the habit. Might be hard at first, you will have to wean yourself off snacking.... stop bringing snacks to work or if there is a snack machine, leave your change at home. Eat small meals more often. As for home, eat dinner and then if you still feel the need to snack, try sugar free pop sickles or start a hobby, something to occupy your time. Drink a cup of coffee, it curves the urge! This has helped me, but it's mainly mind over matter..... drink plenty f water to, makes you feel less snacky!

Good luck, I hope one of my tips work for you!

When you're under stress, the best thing would be to go to the gym. A lot of offices have some kind of deal with gyms, and employees usually work out during the lunch break. Exercise helps you relax.

I cant stop you from eating the way you do. But what you can do is get rid of all junk food you have around the house and at the job and replace it with healthy foods you like. When you get stressed out instead of eating junk food, you will have good foods you can eat from.

Instead of eating all different kinds of foods....get yourself some Twizzlers and chew on them. They r fat free and satisfy the need to be eating something. Good for someone trying to quit smoking also.

you could replace what you're eating with something healthier. or you could eat lollipops or suckers that take longer to eat. or eat something like apple slices or carrots (they're low calorie and burn calories to digest). you could also drink water or even crystal light (the new red punch kind is so good - tastes just like hawaiin punch!). i'll write again if i think of some more ideas. hang in there!

Good question, I used to have the same problem. It's not easy by far but if you want to bad enough you can do it. Just try to find something else to occupy your time. Or you could also try strictly sticking to three meals a day...
