The first time I took it, I got pregnant the first month (unfortunately I miscarried). The second time it took 8 months, but after 7 months ttc, my OB found I had endometriosis and removed it. I conceived the very next month. I am in my 3rd month ttc with it again. Every time I have been on it, I had to start taking it on day 3 of my cycle. When my period was late, my OB gave me prometrium to help start my cycle so that I could begin taking the Clomid. To my knowledge, you can't start it until you start your cycle. Also, my OB has to examine me every month when I start my cycle before I begin taking it again to make sure my ovaries aren't hyper-stimulated. Unless, you have an ultrasound during ovulation to check your ovaries, then you don't need to be examined. However, you still have to wait until day 3 of your cycle to begin taking the Clomid again. Confirm this with your OB please before you take it again.

My sister-N-Law took Clomiphene to start her periods again, but I started using Clomiphene about 6 years ago to get pregnant. I am a unexplained infertility. Nothing at all is the matter w/ me or my husband. after using the Comiphene for almost a year I finally got pregnant. My daughter turned 5 in June. I have again used the same drug off & on over the past few years w/ no luck just recently got done using it for about a 6 month stretch w/ no luck then either. I am now trying something I found on line called FertilAid it's alot cheaper & I did extensive research on it & I'm hopeful.

I got off the pill last June '05. I didn't have a period w/out taking progesterone. So the dr put me on 100mg of clomid in Feb and I got pregnant on the first round. I had a m/c in April and now have been taking clomid for 3 months. This month I had an HCG shot... they do an ultrasound about day 10 or 12 to see if your follicles are ready and then give you the shot when they are 20. You will then ovulate in 36 hours or less! If clomid doesn't make you start then you are not ovulating. You may have to go to a fertility doctor in order for them to do this...regular ob/gyn's like to beat around the bush for ever. NO PUNT INTENDED haha

I took clomiphene for several months trying to conceive. It didn't work for me personally. However, it did make me a raving lunatic! I was MOODY!!! But everyone is different and you may have great success. There is the possibility of multiple births with clomiphene.(of course, I'm sure your doc has discussed this with you.) I wish you luck! There are a lot of options out there.

Dear, be aware of this drug !! It's the generic name for Clomid !! It's a drug that promotes fertility. But be careful, 'cause it has severe side effects. It's written that if you take it for more than 12 months, there is a great risk you have ovarian cancer.
I have known by experience, both my mother and sister took Clomid and they got 2 breast lumps, and it's scary.
When the midwife encouraged me to take Clomid, and I refused 'cause of the known side effects, she didn't deny at all - her answer was this
Need to say more dear ? I feel that I must warn everyone !!!
