Yes, I'm very fortunate to work for a non-profit agency that prides itself on providing the most flexibility possible. I can switch my schedule around as much as I need to, in order to meet the needs of my family, errands, and other appointments.

I also think that you find more flexibility when working for a woman. I know this might sound somewhat sexist, but I believe it to be true. My boss (a woman with children herself) understands the need to leave at a moments notice when a child becomes ill at school or if I'm running behind because I had to take my child to the dentist. My previous bosses (mostly men) were not nearly as understanding.

Yes I do. I can take a day off with no notice. I take as many vacation days as I need a year. If I need to leave for a school function, half-day with the kids, mental day, emergency; I do it. Whats my angle...I own the company. Its easy to do with that advantage. Funny thing, my employees take more time off than I do.

I have a great boss. I can come in after I drop her off at Kindergarten and I get off work to pick her up. I have no trouble with doctor appts. or if she's sick. I consider myself very lucky.
