Hi
you dont say if its a wild armadillo or a former pet...

If its a pet, then its considered and exotic pet and you can locate a sanctuary that will take it.. IF it has been a pet always do not release it to the wild as it will not know how to survive...

If its a pest..... a wild one that is a problem.....

You sh ould know laws vary from state to state,,but under Federal law it would be protected from harm like giving it radiator fluids or poisons or shooting it.

You don't mention where you live..either

Texas maybe??? Texas has a history of issues with the 9 banded Amadillos... they can create ALOT of problems!

There they often DIG up lawns looking for bugs and grubs.. they are wonderful diggers.. but they only dig for food or to den

You shoudl know that breeding occurs in July and the embryo or baby stays dormant til November, they wont be born til March.

You could try repellents but I doubt they will work...

Here is a good site...

Remember you should not trap it yourself and if its a pet you need to find a plac for it go not just release it.

Good Luck

The one and only way to take care of your problem is with trapping and removal of the animal. There is no magic spray or device that you can use to make them go away. Some people try to sell predator urine, such as coyote or fox urine to get rid of dillos, but that doesn't work. They also try to sell ultrasonic sound emitters. These devices are worthless at eliminating armadillos. Some old wive's tales recommend the use of mothballs or ammonia-soaked rags to make them leave, but these techniques fail as well - biologists know that these attempts won't work.

Get another armadillo of the opposite sex and place him/her within sight. They will be drawn to each other .. and leave together peacefully. Good Luck ! :)

You might try placing moth balls around the outside perimeter of your home.

I have tried many things and this works. Find his hole (in the ground) pour gasoline in it and block the hole. The critter will seek better accomodations.
