I love Halloween.

Oct 7 we drive up to Brussell's IL (with a bunch of neighbors & friends) and buy all our pumpkins - we haul them back int he truck.

Oct 27 We have a pumpkin carving party - everyone brings their pumpkins over to the hsoue and we go outside and set up plywood on saw horses and carve pumpkins for hours. I serve chili and hot apple cider (with rum for the adults)

Oct 31 we turn the garage in to a scary funeral home and put gravestones out front and flash lights and dress up nad give out candy to the kids!

I will be celebrating Samhain. In costume with apple pie, homemade wine, etc. We will sit in a circle around a candle and reflect on our loved ones who have past on.
The veil between the living and dead is thin, and spirits can pass through. good or bad, so make sure your pumpkins are lit.
And leave apples out for the dead to eat on their travels.

Don't make it too scary for the little ones. It really ruins their evening. We used to create a spook house in our yard complete with a casket and everything. Flashing lights. We live out in the country now with no trick or treaters, heck. . .no neighbors!!! But remember trick or treat is MOSTLY for the little ones so try to make their night enjoyable.

I plan to celebrate the Samhain like I always do, with candles, meditation, and celebration. Happy New Year.
