Change them how? like replacing with new ones?
MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE A LITTLE BRAKE FLUID FROM THE RESEIVIOR BEFORE STARTING THIS JOB.
( 2 ways - the reseivior or caliper bleeder screws )
D.O.T 3 Brake fluid will need to be used for this job ONLY.
Tools needed:
Brake Cleaner
Brake Lube
Rags
Cotter Pins X2
Rotor Seals
Rotors
Brake Pads ( Use Semi-Metalic or Super Stops be Raybestos for heavier duty applicataions)
15mm Wrench
17mm or 19mm for the caliper braket bolts (i forget)
3/8" Allen socket
3/8" ratchet
Crecent Wrench 10"
Jack Stands
Floor Jack
1. Make sure all the parts are correct size and application.
2. I new rotors are used , make sure to remove the FILM of shipping oil supplied from parts store cant have that stuff get on pads.
3. CLEAN all slide areas - make sure slide surffaces and GUID pins for Cliper are cleaned and lubed with Disk Brake Lube Grease.
4. Get yourself a can of Non-Chlorinated Brake Cleaner.
5. If the truck is 4WD you will need seals for the Rotor Brearings, that means you will need to repack the bearings once removed, and after you install them you will need the Rotor Seal to keep the rear bearing in place, DONT reuse the old seals.
6.After you repack the bearings, makse sure that you install the rotor even on the spindle. Install the outter bearing, install the spindle washer ONLY GOES on ONE WAY, install the spindle NUT hand tight.
7. Spindle NUT must be set correctly or you woll put tpo much presure on the outter bearing and cause it to fail. ONCE you have the NUT hand snug againist the washer use a crecent wrench to give it a 1/4 turn clock wise direction tightening. Spin the rotor 360* to make sure the bearings did not BIND up.
Again check to see that the rotor has no IN - OUT play , grab the rotor at the 12 and 6 oclock possition and move it in and out, if there is more then a 1/4" playu u need to tighten it a little more USE SMALL INCRAMENTS do not OVERTIGHTEN the nut.
8.Install the caliper support braket. This should already have been lubed on all the sliding areas where the Brake Pads will touch. Tighten the 2 bolts tight.
9. Install 1 REAR DISK PAD on the caliper , this is the one that has a metal arm which allows you to center it on the inner bore of the caliper piston. Then install the outter pad on the caliper braket this will hold it self up if installed correctly.
*** Make sure both PAD SURFACES are coated with a DISK BRAKE approved sealer ( i use ULTRA DISK BRAKE CALIPER LUBE by PERMATEX # 24110 ) use this on the slide areas/pins/MEATL edges of the pads NOT the pad surface that mates to the rotor. ***
10. Istall the caliper onto the braket making sure that the pads are in correct possition. The caliper PINS should be in the correct area if you installed everything right.
11. Thighten the pins snuggly. USE the Brake Cleaner to clean any lube of the rotor you might have accendently put on the rotors before you put on the tires.
12. Torque down the tire lugs to 95lbs depending on if the vehicle is a 1500 , if 2500 or 3500 u might need it to be 100 to 120lbs.
MAKE SURE TO APPLY THE BRAKES BEFORE YOU START THE VEHICLE - MAKE SURE THE PEDDAL IS UP BEFORE U MOVE THE VEHICLE.
Hope this helps ...
Good Luck

well first take the wheels off.then you take the caliper bolts out and remove the caliper.use a c clamp to compress the calipers back.remove brake pads, and install new ones.replace caliper and bolt down tight.after you do both sides.you need to slowly press the brakes until the pedal returns to normal, and they have normal pressure on them.install wheels and tighten, and your done.be sure to take a couple of test stops before getting up to high speed.
