I was wondering, what are some of the physical changes you ladies saw with your bodies after being pregnant and giving birth?

right after giving birth, it was shocking how pregnant i still looked. only less firm. but that part goes away pretty fast, especially if you breastfeed. i actually weigh less than i did before i had my two boys, but my body still looks different. my hips are a bit wider, my breasts are less firm, but for the most part, it is ok. losing the weight takes a little time, and it is frustrating not to be able to wear your regular clothes right away, but be patient! it will all work out in the end, and i have an amazing appreciation for what my body was able to do.

Just wanted to let you know that not everyone becomes riddled with stretch marks! I used cream only occasionally and I only got a few on my sides near the end of my pregnancy. I have none on my stomach. It all has to do with genetics. My mom never got any stretch marks when she was pregnant either. I did find that my muscles were very out of shape and my back still hurts and I gave birth 5.5 mths ago. Walking while pushing a stroller helps to get you back in shape! (I usually go for an hour a day)

Gees...looking at some of these other answers, maybe I didn't get it so bad. I had my daughter 2 yrs ago and am now 14wks pregnant. I did breastfeed my daughter and literally within about 3months was down to my pre-pregnancy weight and had even lost a couple of pounds. Now I will admit I'm not as tone as I used to be. I have a pooch even after trying to fix that. I have stretch marks on my belly, but they have faded somewhat as well. My hips did gain about an inch. Other than that I think I'm ok. I gained 35 total pounds with my 1st pregnancy and ate reasonably. I didn't splurge, but I didn't necessarily hold back either. Walking during and after pregnancy helps too. Don't let all these things scare you though---consider them "marks of motherhood" and they will give you the smile that will light up your life!

I was 138lbs before I got pregnant, now I am 164. I had my daughter almost 5 months ago. And I am trying to loose the weight. They say that give your self at least 9 months. it took you 9 months to gain the weight, should be about the same to loose it. For stretch marks I used Cocoa butter every day. Did some excercises, tried to gain weight steadily. If you think you are gainnig too fast try to eat only apples for a day or two, it helped me. Drink water, but don't forget, not to eat anything too salty, it will retain your water in the body. Slow down on sweets. After birth it is very different.
The only advice is SLEEP, SLEEP, AND SLEEP.

Immediately after, for 2 or 3 days or so, I was sweating like a horse.
after that, breast feeding helped take off most of the weight (that, and being too busy to have 3 square meals a day)
The most different thing I notice now is a little loose skin around my belly button. I have seen women who have it way worse than i do so it all depends I think.
I know that women who smoke (even if they quit during pregnancy) have a harder time getting their skin to take its old shape.
And my back is totally ruined. I didn't work my abs enough after I gave birth and the down and up all the time with the baby really ruined my back. I've been told to do Yoga stretches every day (sun salutations) to strengthen my back.

Mostly just a flabbier stomach, breast were bigger during breastfeeding and probably not as firm as before, but I don't really exercise or work out that much. I do have some stretch marks on my stomach, but my husband doesn't seem to mind. Right after you have the baby, you will still look pregnant for a week or so, so don't worry about that, it just takes a little time.

Gosh PEOPLE make it sound so bad!! Yeah you can get stretch marks some people are different! Gaining weight, bigger butt, bigger scretched boobs, yeah you may get those but it all depends on your own body type I know a couple girls who had 2-3 kids and still look the same. Yeah wish I could but it all depends on you and your body! I gained, but lost it about a year later: boobs, butt, stomach have stretch marks! But I love my body!! You should too! and be thankful for the child who cares what you look like!

i put on 38 lbs with my son and lost 23 right away(by 6 week checkup)---he's 7 months now....i probably lost almost everything by 5 months...i probably have like an extra 3-5 lbs on me and unfortunately a lil pouch belly which can be fixed with situps(just too tired to do 'em!!!)---i had a very normal healthy pregnancy and my hormonal levels went back pretty quickly...only real negative thing i have is alopecia(hair loss after prego)...mine was pretty bad but getting a bit better now--most docs and people have told me that by the time baby is a year my hair should be getting back to normal.

saggy breast, flabby stomach, stretch marks those were my biggest. But you won't even think about that after you see your bundle of joy. You can get your stomach back if you work hard at it but as far as the breast no more perkeness and the stretch marks are there to stay. Sorry you are a mother now. Can't concentrate on your own self anymore.

I don't think there was anything that didn't change-my hair is really dry, vision not as sharp, cold all the time (used to be comfortable but now need to bundle up), my feet grew half a size, my stomach has stretch marks, there are stretch marks on my thighs, belly flab that NO exercise will touch, hemorrhoids, breasts not as firm...

Motherhood is such a beautiful thing. ;)
