I live in San Antonio, TX where it is hot most of the time. It is cooler inside the office where I work. We have have a business casual dress code but it is so difficult to define, I thought I would get the opinion of the minds on Yahoo! answers.

I always say it is nice slacks and a nice shirt (ie button down). For sure no denim or T-shirt-type tops. Ask the company you work for. It is probably defined in their policy manual.

I own a small finance company and to me it means:
a skirt or slacks with a nice blouse, No jeans, nice shoes No tank tops, a strappy blouse okay only if accompanied by a jacket. Some employers require "no Bare legs". For me if bare legs then the shoes should be either a strappy heel, mule or pump. But if your legs are totally white wear hose. Dress smart as you never know whom might show up at work and you want to give a good professional impression.

Hey, SA here too! Business casual means no jeans, t-shirts, or sneakers. Men can wear slacks like Dockers and polo or button down shirts (both should be tucked in) with loafers or nice dress shoes. Ladies should wear nice slacks and skirts or dresses. Don't wear dresses or blouses that expose too much skin or that are too short. Bare backs and middles are a no-no. No shorts. Nice shoes are a must and sandals are ok as long as they aren't flip-flops or too casual.

Absolutely NOTHING you would wear out on a Saturday night!!
Usually pants not jeans, nothing really low cut, or high cut for that matter! Button down shirts, khaki's, casual dress pants or A-line skirts are usually OK. If you think its questionable...best to stay way from it because you are probably right!

Maybe a brown skirt that goes a little bit past the knees and a green blouse with the buttons up to the neck?
