I need to represent some data for a program but I don't want to just use cout. Long ago, I could write and represent programs using ascii but I've forgotten how. Actual gui would be ok too, but it would need to be something that is installed by default with fedora linux.

It's KDE so I guess it has QT, but where's a good tutorial for using it? I can't find much useful in regular searches. What about the commands for doing DOS-like applications? I might just prefer to use a simple ascii interface.

Use either the GTK toolkit or the QT toolkit, depending on whether you prefer (or have installed) Gnome or KDE (repsectively).
