porcelain is a specific type of clay that is generally white in color - ceramic is a general term meaning any kind of clay.

cermaic is natural, and porcelin isnt.. The dif is, ceramic will shatter in a millions pieces and it less fragil, and porcelin will shatter in 3 million peices and is more fragil.
