I dont have kids yet but i know what you mean... weekends just end in a flash and it seems like on monday morning you are as tired as you are on friday evening !

here are some tips:

1) try and get the weekend chores done in the week
eg. do your laundry on friday evening rather than saturday afternoon

2) go shopping on thursday evenings rather than weekend
(and weekdays are so much quieter in the shops i prefer that)

3) sleep early on friday night
that way you are geared up on saturday morning and have caught up on some much-needed sleep

4) this one depends on your childrens age:
send your children for sleepovers to their friends place for the friday or saturday night once every few weekends then you can have their friends over for sleepover after few weeks
that way you can get the rest when the kids are away and i am sure the kids' friends' parents will appreciate the time they get when their kids are at yours

5) cook simple meals on weekends

6) if watching tv is your way of relaxing then browse through whats on tv in the weekend - choose a movie or program and make sure you plan the day so that you are free and relaxed at that time.

hope you use some of my tips this weekend !

good luck !!

If all of you are home on the weekends and have no family outings planned, try letting the hubby and kids know that "MOM" needs a time out! Go soak in a bubbles bath, light some candles, get out a nice novel and read. Or if you do crafts, close yourself up and enjoy what u enjoy. Let the house go!! Ask to be waited on......why only have that on Mothers Day?

i work 6 days a week so only have sundays off, i have a baby so a lie in is out of the question. in the summer i like to look around the shopping centres, but in winter they are closed so i usually go out for lunch, come home and clean while hubby is flat out watching tv! then if i am lucky i will sit down for 5 mins with a cuppa. i don't really do too much as im always on the go

I run swim and cycle around the countryside dressed in lycra with hundreds of other idiots.

Or if I just need to get away for a bit,
I go for coffee with a friend
or meditate
or read a book/magazine
or play the piano
or walk the dogs

Nothing desperately original admitedly!

I shut my bedroom door and sing or read the bible. The rest of the time I'm stressed out by football on tv. I go to church Sunday morning, the kids come too and go to the church kids club, that's one way to get some good time, praising God

try to find me time, although my kids are all grown, you can take a bubble bath,, your husband should help out with the kids and give you some time alone to relax,, after kids go to bed, we usually sat out on the porch and talked about the day,

Honestly, Since I work all week and don't get to see my kids enough. I like to spend time with them, whether it's cooking or just going for a walk. I know this sounds weird but I actually like to do their laundry and cook for them.

Play World of Warcraft all weekend, and only stop when you need to eat and go toilet.

I try to take 30 minutes at sunrise or sunset to be by myself and be quietly introspective.
