Yeah, I'm pissed! This is an all American sport, we should stick to American made cars. You can thank DamnDarrell Waltrip for promoting the Toyotas, too. My opinion of him has went to the shitter!

Why are you so upset about Toyota, is it just that they aren't American, or is it an image thing, would you object to Alfa Romeo, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, or Jaguar. What about foreign drivers do they upset you too, will Montoya receive a barrage of beer cans, how can the teams and drivers of the Nextel Cup be considered world class if they are not going to compete globally, It should be seen as an honour that one of the biggest car manufactures in the world has chosen to compete in your National championship, despite the fact that they have had to re learn about cast iron engine blocks and carburettors

No. The name Toyota brings more prestige to nascar as a series since toyota is a japanese company. However, people seem to forget that the cars are almost exactly the same except for the front bumper design. The chassis, engines, and all the parts are made by nascar approved race shops not in the regular manufacturers' factories and bear no connection whatsoever to the road cars that they are modeled after. So, I don't care if hyundai, subaru, mazda, porsche or ferrari start nascar teams. Their cars would still be nascar approved using the same parts as the other cars.

As far as it goes, most people are upset over Toyota because they are a foreign company coming into a sport that is an "All American" sport. If you look at things in general, Toyota's are made mostly in the US so it is not really a foreign thing. More "American" cars and their parts are made outside the US so why not be upset about that. Look at Detroit surrounding area's as the job market is highly decreasing there due to jobs being taken out of the country. Toyota's are made in Tennesee, Ky, Ohio, and other places so what about that. I just thought I would give you something to think about because I think it would be an asset to see them in Nascar next year. They are in other car races and nobody seems to be complaining about that!

To everyone who complains about Toyota not being an American car. It is just as American as a Chevy Monte Carlo or Ford Fusion. Exactly where do you think the Camry is being built? Who do you think is building all the parts? That's right - Americans. Get some facts before you get all P O' d. Dodge. Now there's a real American company, owned by Germans. I don't hear anyone complaining about that. Get a life. It's just racing and the world is an ever changing place.

Nah. I can careless what cars they drive. As long as they stick to the regulations who cares. It is nice to see some variety come to a sport with little changes.

And if Nascar wants to get rid of the "Good ol' Boy" image it has and step up into the ranks of the NFL and MLB, this change can be very good. I think most peeps fear Toyota coming because what would happen if they won the chase next year...lol

Not at all. I think it speaks well of the caliber of competition in NASCAR that it has attracted the attention of one of the world's largest auto manufacturers. And for those people who think that the Nextel Cup should only be for American cars, the Camry is built in Kentucky.

NASCAR has gone down hill since Nextel started sponsoring it. That lucky dog rule needs to go

No way, now we will see some good racing. Anyone who owns a Toyota knows what I am talking about. This company can build a GREAT car.

I can't believe the amount of xenophobia on this subject! Surely another high profile manufacturer adding it's name to NASCAR will attract more international fans and sponsors - which will increase the TV coverage worldwide and put more bums in seats on raceday.

It can only be good for the sport.
