need a jacket for a sock hop from the 1950's or 1960's clothing

It's pricey, but look at www.daddyos.com and it will at least give you an idea of what to look for if you dont want to spend that kind of $$!

Why a jacket? You don't need one to look in that time era. if you need it for warmth to it & from, you'll be taking it off. Or go online, get the look you want and check out Good Will or places simular.

You can get an idea and add assessories to it, like beads, patches, sequince, etc. www.daddyos.com IS a good site for ideas and there are other sites linked to it. If push comes to shove and you're in a hurry and can afford it, rent one at a bonafide costume store.

Wear a men's letter jacket our just a sweater set with pearls.

Try going to the nearest Salvation Army or Good Will store. Ask a friend or try a yard sale.

A cardigan sweater would be more appropriate. You can them cheap at Thrift Shops. Ideally a sweater twin set.
