Vietnam wasn't about money. Vietnam was a proxy war between the superpowers. Instead of nuking each other, the super powers squabbled over some jungle. Iraq isn't about money, it's about security. There are some very bad people with a lot of resources at their disposal. How long can America sit back and listen to crowds with huge economic resources chant "Death to America" before taking action?

Why did Iraq invade Kuwait?
Oh yea....oil.
It's not like the middle east has oil at the bottom of it's list of important things.
I think most of the time religion is just an excuse, not a reason.
They fight over a piece of land so small that most Americans would make a park out of it.

iraq, vietnam, Iraq again??? You have a limited knowledge of your history-Korean War, World War II and I were fought to stop invasions of one country by another. In WWII we were attacked and responded, And Germany delared war on us. In world war I the bwar in Europe had been going on for years before we got involved. To say money and religion is the cause is not correct. It may be a reason within a group of them, but not the primary one...M

Western world also fights war for religion: crusades, all of the mideast conflicts it is in. Power is actually the reason behind both the religion and money reasons. Religious zeolots want power. Money hungry corporate types want power.

There is only one cause of war, and even if you got rid of all the money and religion in the world, it would still be here. That cause is human nature - we are flawed and always will be so there will never be an end to war.

Wars are not over money and religion. You need to go back and re-read your Clausewitz.

Wars are caused by governments that need to control their own destinies. Control of resources is one such control, control of belief of your subjects and your neighbors is another, as well as control of technology, strategic territory....all these are the cause of war. If you abolished religion and money, you would still have war. It is the nature of governments to war because governments fear their own people and they fear their neighbors. When they act through war, it is to assuage those fears.

religeon is almost never the root cause ... but more used to justify greed and lust for power after the fact ... the very fact of the muslim situation being sold to the west as a purely "religeous fanatic" thing should tell you theres somthing wrong with the picture ... "who benefits" has to be asked ..."who is the aggressor" ... then you can find "who" is actually responsible for the war.

The line between the two is blurred because they both come together for the same reason - CONTROL. Control of territory and control of people.
