I think the average life is about 2 years. But It really depends on how you care for them.. I have heard of several people whose fish have lived up to five years or so..
The key is doing practical water changes often, and full water changes. A large bowl isn't a bad thing. Also they regularly need exercise so if you can put a mirror near their bowl that’s great(just don’t keep the in this state of excitement constantly, a little while every so often is fine). Also a fake plant or object in the bowl can give entertainment.
Also watch what you feed them. A diet that is too constant and too rich can give them constipation and can kill them if untreated.
Do not overfeed. keep in mind that their stomach is about the size of their eyeball! Use water that is safe for them. Also don’t freak if you miss a meal… Some people purposely skip a day of feeding to help keep the constipation form becoming a problem.

I even have had bettas stay for 5 years, and that replaced into back once I stored them in bowls! i now know greater powerful, and merely have been given a clean betta to stay in my community tank. he could rather stay a protracted life in case you feed him usually and make useful his water is in suitable concern. A cory could be a surprising tank mate, and in case you have a tank great adequate tetras or rasboras are additionally reliable little significant different fish. My betta is actual terrified of the Neon tetras I even have. merely evade issues that have long fins like guppies and greater agressive fish.
