Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and A B C's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees
Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there
We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......
We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone

Good riddance. We have a double celebration. Ellis is going and we have a first class manager. It is no coincidence that the Villa have made a good start to the season. Many of the very good players from the past having been calling on Ellis to leave for years. Denis Mortimer for one. Ellis was arrogant. He never forgave the Villa for winning the title and the European Cup while he was not on the board. I never once believed that he truly had Villa at heart. He just liked the status. It would be a right smack in the eye for him if Villa were to win something this season. Wishful thinking but you never know.

Shame he's left. Villa might now start doing something, then their fans, the Tottenham of the Midlands, might actually have a point when they go on constantly about how big and great they are, just like Spurs. How many league titles? Cups? etc. wouldn't even fill my kitchen cupboard.

i still cant believe he named a stand after himself. that's something the club usually do after the death of a legend. i wouldn't be surprised if his statue ain't already been made.
