You won't know until you have an ultrasound at 20-22 weeks, usually by then, depending on how the fetus is laying, they should be able to tell the sex.

Well, there are lots of funny old wives tales about ways you can tell. Look in yahoo or google search for some of the myths.
The only real way, aside from waiting til birth, is to have an ultrasound done at around 20 weeks. That's typically when your OB/GYN will look to see the sex of the baby.
You've only got 6 weeks to go, hang in there!
I know it's so suspenseful, I'm having mine in 2 more weeks and I can't wait!

Do you mean how you can predict the gender of your baby? If this is the question then the answer is that you cannot-sorry you will have to wait at least 3 weeks and go get an ultrasound and if the baby cooperates you can tell, if it doesn't you will have to wait a little longer-good luck with your pregnancy

It depends on your Doc. Mine did extensive ultrasounds when I was 20 weeks with my pregnancies. It is kinda hard to tell at 13 weeks. Hope you have a great pregnancy.

After 16-18wks the genitals are developed and you should be able to see in a sonogram if you want to know. Otherwise you can try to guess with all the myths and wives tales out there about how you are carrying the baby, etc.

You won't be able to tell until you are at least 20 weeks. Even then it is sometimes hard to tell. I had 3 sonograms with my daughter and never knew what she was until she was born--and it drove me nuts. With my son--we got a good view of the bottom of his butt so we knew without a doubt. It just depends on what position they are in and how good the sonogram tech is. My advice--try to schedule your sonogram for about 22 weeks and if the baby is asleep--try moving around (even jumping) to wake him/her up.

I empathize with your impatience to know. I am 13 weeks also and have to wait until the second week of November to see if we can see what it is.
The Phlebotomist (sp?) asked us what we were hoping for. I said a baby. She said thats good cause it would kinda suck if you ended up with at puppy. .. Just a little story to make you smile.

the sex of the baby can be seen on ultrasound exam starting from week 16. Usually, doctors order ultrasound, anyway, at about week 20, so then you'll know everything.

Be patient. You can't find out the gender until you're around 19 weeks through an ultrasound.
I don't really believe in old wive's tales. Everyone's different.

Although 13 weeks is pretty early to tell, I'm guessing you'll probably have A BABY, as in, a human baby LOL......
