http://www.archive.org/details/feature_films is a site that has public doman movies for free. There are actually some good ones on there like the night of the living dead. Some are b&w some are silent and alot are color w/sound. They also have old cartoons that are kinda cool. http://www.archive.org/details/classic_cartoons

new trend is starting according to PC World, and that's that indie filmmakers are offfering their movies on iPod only. The first one doing it is called Rune and is at www.runethemovie.com but I figure there will be more soon. It's free, and legal.
